About this site

KaiwaGo is the free web edition of Learn Japanese Conversation, a mobile app for beginners learning Japanese. It publishes the same study material as the app: hiragana and katakana charts, 101 JLPT N5 kanji and 205 everyday phrases with audio.

The content is prepared by the app team. Kanji meanings, readings and example words are edited by the team; stroke-order shapes come from KanjiVG by Ulrich Apel (CC BY-SA 3.0). Audio is recorded or generated with text-to-speech and served from our own server.

We correct mistakes as soon as they are reported. Write to us from the contact page.
